Google Analytics…
FINALLY!!!
So I signed up for Google Analytics about 3 months ago. They have been having some issues with the demand and even more trouble keeping up! I just got my new email early this morning and had some time before getting to work to implement just the basic tags which took all of 2 minutes. So my site has been slowly collecting data. My first issue is the fact that I was expecting real time. Currently Analytics is about 24 hours behind. SUCKS. I didn’t want to have to wait until my data showed up tomorrow, but still… I had the tool collecting data so I had to wait.
I love Google… I am not really sure why because they do do a little too much. If someone has an idea that they have coded out, Google buys it up and implements it. Case and point is Analytics. The interface is VERY clean and easy to use. They have layouts for three defined areas: Executive, Marketing & Web Developer. Obviously I like the 3rd. I have never really had the chance to see how people interact with my sites. I would love to follow paths and see where I need to improve.
I just added these to some stores that I coded back in the day. Today after work, I spent some time adding some more of the complicated code to the pages for better feedback from the system. You can set “goals” on the site which are sort of like a tracking system to see where you are losing people and most importantly revenue.
Needless to say, I did get some data trickling in about an hour ago. I will have to do an update once I have received more data. I do get a lot of traffic on my store sites, so that should be nice in showing me what this bad boy can do.

Wow, I need to keep my site up to date! Analytics is working just great BTW. I love the results I am getting back and now use it on every site we have!
